Over the past three years, I have worked with Phillip from P and Lee Builders. In this time, Phil has produced over 7 and a half million dollars worth of up market residential construction over multiple sites in both the townhouse and small dwelling market.
From the negotiated tender and instillation through to completion and handover, I have found Phil to act with the utmost professionalism and integrity. We engaged P and R Lee Builders to carry out major renovations and extensions to our house in 2006.
Phil and his team were selected on the basis of:
- A recommendation from our architect; and
- Their delivery of a competitive and detailed quotation for the job. At this initial stage we were quite impressed with the quote as it addressed all the matters we requested (as opposed to quotes we received from various other builders).
Throughout the entire building process Phil and his team acted in a timely matter with all work done to high standard, Phil:
- Quickly attended to and rectified any minor problems;

- Was always available to discuss maters over the phone or meet on site; and
- Was always flexible and understanding with regard to the many variations we made along the way

I recently engaged P and R Lee Builders for major repairs and extension to my "character" home in Auchenflower. I had noted the quality and efficiency of their work on nearby homes. Having an engineering background, I prepared plans for my requirements and discussed them with Phil Lee. I found that he clearly understood my ideas and the architectural style of the project. He provided some helpful ideas and we were able to discuss a lot of practical details. His project specification was exactly as requested and his quotation was comfortably below other quotes which were based on less definite specifications and more than I required.
Phil prepared a standard contract and work commenced at the promised time. As the job progressed I was impressed with the quality of work, the efficient coordination of his teams and their safety standards, care of my property and regard for neighbours. At any time I was able to discuss details with Phil and his tradesmen and several matters I had overlooked were incorporated into the project with no fuss at all. The final result is very pleasing, the whole process was remarkably stress-free and I felt I got very good value for the money.

My husband and I recently engaged P and R Lee Builders to build our new house at Manly. We chose P and R Lee builders because of their reputation and work standards. The build was very successful and stress free. From the planning stage to the finish we were extremely happy with Phil and everyone that worked on the house.
We also chose to use Renee Lee as our interior design consultant. After seeing Renee's vision for the house she helped us with picking out colour schemes, tiles, bathroom vanities and light fixtures. Renee also designed our kitchen, including kitchen cabinets, bench and layout. We are thrilled with the final result of Renee’s work.
We would and have recommended P and R Lee Builders for any job.

P and R Lee Builders recently completed a second level extension to our brick home in the form of two new bedrooms and a bathroom. The entire job took ten week, as per our contract. We were very happy with the finished result. Every tradesman who worked on the job, from Phil down to the apprentice was very professional, polite and friendly. The building site was always kept clean and tidy.
We had no problems throughout the entire job and the final price came in on target from the quote. The Finish on the building work was to a very high standard. Phil managed the job very calmly and efficiently, constantly communicating with us as to the status of the work.
Overall we were completely happy with Phil and his team and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. We would certainly use him again in the future for any building work we might undertake.

Just a quick note to say thanks to you, Kev and all the team for a brilliant job with our recent renovation and extension. After close to 20 years in property valuation, I have heard plenty of horror stories about client/builder relations and given the arrival of our new bub just 7 days before work began, we were a little anxious about the upcoming work. I’m pleased to say that our experience with P&R Lee couldn’t have been more perfect. We were both impressed not only with your quote, but also with the quality of the workmanship. Best of all there was never an incidence where things were late – whether it was coming around for the initial inspection, sending of the quote or final handover. Kev’s running advice also saved us grief, particularly in relation to our laundry recess which could have been a disaster, and his tips on creating more space in the ensuite. Finally, the ease with which we were able to deal with any unexpected hiccups and variations along the way was seamless.
As you know both Michelle and I are keen to take on a few more projects in the future and hope you will be available to complete the job when the time comes.
All in all we cannot recommend P&R Lee highly enough and have in fact passed on your contact details to several of our friends praising the honest, courteous and professional manner of your organisation.

We engaged P&R Lee Builders to due a major renovation on our character house in Paddington. Our renovation required compliance with numerous planning laws which meant we needed a builder who would be particular and aware of such constraints. Phil was recommended to us by both our architect and a previous client as someone who is familiar and confident with character housing in the area. During our initial meeting with Phil it was evident he was not only familiar with such planning laws but also confident to take on the job. From our first meeting his level of professionalism and integrity was evident, which gave us peace of mind that proceeded throughout the job until the very last detail.
Phil was always available to meet and/or discuss various items as the job proceeded and if there ever was a problem he had would inevitably have a couple of solutions ready, enabling the entire process to run smoothly. Phil’s time management was exceptional which saw not only the project finished on time but more importantly, given we are a busy family with three small children, we never felt under pressure to make any necessary decisions in terms of specifications on the spot.
The people he engages either as employees and/or as sub-contractors were also very professional. His team was well mannered and very positive people on site and at no time did one trade blame another for any work that may or may have not been done. They were always accommodating when it came to those inevitable minor changes that arise along the way. When we required trades outside of the initial scope of works he always had people he could recommend and they too were always timely and obviously had a rapport with Phil that showed respect and previous positive experiences.
Phil’s ability to Project Manage the entire job enabled my husband and I to only have to speak with him which reduced the confusion and misinterpretations that we have experienced in previous renovations. We have no hesitation in recommending him and should we do further work in the Brisbane area would definitely seek his services out once again.

I was first introduced to P & R Lee Builders through my work. I am an interior designer for architectural firm that designed a number of luxury houses for whom P & R Lee Builders were the selected builders. Through my dealings with Phil in relation to these houses it was a very easy choice for me to ask him to work on my own home extensions.
Communication with Phil and his staff was always very open, and no extra last minute request was ever any trouble. Phil was great in providing alternative solutions to any construction challenges. We are more than happy to provide you with a reference for the fantastic job with our extension and renovations.
We couldn't have chosen to renovate at a more difficult time as we had just had a new baby and were living with family so we very much appreciate the effort Phil and his team put into getting it done on time without any compromise on quality. The entire build was very well managed throughout with excellent communication at all times so we only ever had to think about the fittings, which made things easy. During the build, Phil also suggested ways to reduce the cost without changing the quality. The team and associated sub contractors were very professional, polite and easy to deal with.
The finished extension/renovation has far exceeded our expectations. We had previously considered selling the house as we thought renovating was going to be too stressful but now we thoroughly enjoy living here. Everyone who has visited has been more than impressed as well - 'the thinking man's builder' is how one friend described Phil.

Thank you sincerely for the work you have done to build our most recent new home. This is the 6th home that you have built or renovated for us, and once again, we are delighted. This is another significant milestone in our real estate relationship, for which we are very grateful. We are delighted to be able to build properties with such relative ease, and, produce homes that our buyers (and most often ourselves) love to live in. The process seems to work for everyone.
We are amazed, and so pleased, that we are always able to find first class people as buyers. We only achieve that through having a first class team, and naturally, you and your people are a very significant part of that. Given that we are in the local community and wanting to build and develop our reputation as developers, integrity and professionalism, are our hallmark….It is so nice to be able to maintain a positive relationship with all the people who have purchased our homes and that only happens because of the quality of the homes that you build.
If we had to rate one quality as paramount in the work that we do, it would be flexibility. Your approach and manner towards any issues that arise is a real credit to you…..if it is possible to say, you actually make building a home easy!
